Guest post: Cards with Layered Stencils

Hello everyone! This is Juhi. I'm so excited to be here as a guest designer! Today I'll be sharing a couple of cards I made using a few Craft Treat Stencils. Links to all stencils used is provided at the end of the post.
My first card features the beautiful layered rose stencil.
The moment I saw this stencil I wanted to make layered watercolor roses.
I started by creating the base layer of the rose with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I did not apply the ink with an ink applicator, instead, I rubbed the ink onto an acrylic block added some water and colored in the layer with a brush. I did the same thing with the second layer before the first layer dried up to create a smudgy watercolor look. I used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I used the same ink for the third and final layer, but this time I applied the ink with an ink applicator foam.
I stenciled 2 roses and a few leaves in the same manner. I added a pink watercolor wash background and added some darker pink details using the Aztec Border Stencil.
To finished the card, I did some stitching in pink and black at the edges and stamped and mounted a sentiment.
I created a cityscape for my second card. The City Scape Stencil from Craft Treat is one of the most versatile stencils that I have come across! The possibilities are endless!
It was so easy to put together a layered cityscape with it!
I started by placing the stencil midway on my cardstock panel measuring 4.25"x5.5" and inking it up with gray ink. The stencil does not reach all the way till the bottom of the panel so I inked up the panel till the bottom after removing the stencil.
For the second layer, I flipped the stencil over and placed it a little lower than the first layer. I inked up this layer with Candied Apple Distress Ink.
I added the windows to the red cityscape by applying shimmer silver texture paste through the window layer of the stencil.
Finally, I masked the buildings with the building mask that comes with the stencils and added fireworks using the Craft Treat Fireworks Stencil and silver texture paste.
I hope you like my projects and are inspired to create some of your own.
