Die Cuts with a View

Hi fellow crafters,
Hope the summer heat has not melted you !!

Oh boy is it hot or what in Chennai, the best thing to  beat the heat is to stay indoors and play with your paper.

The new metallic paper released by Craftreat is so much fun that I pulled out all my dies and started experimenting
There are many ways to use the frame dies but the metallic paper with its contrasting colors is so much fun .

Card 1:

I cut the 12x12 down to 11x 7. Folded it in half. Now I have a 7x5 1/2 card. You can now tape any open cut die in the centre . These papers have such a contrasting color on the other side that you do not need to provide a backing. The contrasting color shines through the openings and looks brilliant. These metallic papers are perfect for cutting  and embossing with dies. The light catches the embossed edges and they stand out even when the cards are laid flat.
The papers are so beautiful that you need very little embellishment to make the card look grand.

Card 2:

The next card I tried was using die cuts and embossing folders. The papers take on a distressed look when embossed with folders. The core shines through the cracks and the embossed impressions are deep and etched well. Just remember to die cut the edges and them emboss with the folders.
This die is actually a top cut dies from Crfaters Companion but I decided to cut the edges and with the mustard showing through, this card only needed only a message inside

Card 3

Finally I began playing with the card stock and boy they  will take up another full blog.  They cut like butter in the manual and electronic machine. Absolutely no fringes , the edges give a clean cut and a neat finish. They match most of the pattern papers released by Craftreats.
I used the cards tock with Spellbinders rose garden die. Just moved the die cut over the edge for the beauty of the scrolls to be revealed. The neat cut out made a difference in the final effect

Will be back next week with a more detailed review of the card stocks.

See you all again soon 😍
