Je T'aime Paris Layout !

Hello Everyone ,

Tasneem this side, with yet another post using the Je T'aime Paris Paper pack.. Its a layout this time with the beautiful Eiffel tower as the backdrop !

Moving onto today's post, here are few tips and tricks to make layouts!

Before starting of with the layout, even though we dont have  a clear picture of how its going to turn out, we need to have a start :

1. A photo / Quote

The photo can be anything , horizontal or vertical, But the size matters. Its better to keep it by 3 x 4 inches or maximum of 5 x 3 inches, so it gives good amount of space to work around. There are exceptional layouts where we can keep it very big or tiny.

2. A sketch / Pattern

Once we have our photo and background papers ready, we need to decide whether we are going to make it horizontal or vertical.

Here we are doing a vertical photo with a vertical layout. One thing to remember is, the layers need to be situated at different eye levels, making them more dynamic. Try not to put your photo exactly in the center, but move it an inch or two higher or lower. Also remember to cover the embellishments with one another and not place them in a row. To enhance the vertical lines, use a stamp or stencil. Usually, the layout tends to become narrower towards the end of the layout.

3. A style you want to try

This can be mixed media or water color backgrounds or stamped backgrounds. Based on the style you want to try , you can choose your photo and embellishments.

4. Color palette
Its always interesting to use three colors, that can be taken from the photo/pattern papers.

So here's how I processed the layout !

1. A random placement and layering of scraps and papers from the pack, along with few fussy cut elements.

2. Gave dimensions to the layers by adding scraps of chipboard pieces in between. And stenciled a vertical pattern to pull down the layout using Prima Modelling Paste.

3. I then started arranging my embellishments to match my papers and the photo.

4. Finally gave in colors using mists/distress inks/paints to enhance the layout. Also added a few beads and glitter powder to enhance the layout.

5. A Title in the layout is always a must. You can place them alongside your embellishments using chippes/charms/die cuts/brush lettering or anything of your choice that conveys the message/memory of the LO.

Here are some closer pics :

I hope you like this!

Cheers,
Tasneem!
